Yay! It’s the weekend.

And that means it’s serious writin time (no G as Radio 2 DJ, Steve Wright would say).

Like runners meet ‘the wall’ so I’ve discovered my own battle happens at around 30,000 words.

Price: Minotaur is my 4th Dr Adam Price novel and the one I’m currently writing (hoped for publication in Spring of 2027).

And like my other 3 action & adventure stories, I’ve reached a point where my mind has started to wander to plot lines and titles for the next novel (Oh yes, I’m going to be writing more).

So how do I get myself ‘back on track’ as they say? Well, for a start, I revisit the writing I’ve already done for the novel in hand, and make some little tweaks here & there, correct the odd ‘obvious’ typo, and most importantly, ask myself “What would Dr Adam Price do?”.

And hey presto!, just like that, I’m typing furiously and before I know it, I’ve written another few thousand words and progressed the story and plot towards the ultimate conclusion.

Oh yes, there is a conclusion.. or should I say, ending… It may not be the right way to write a novel, but when I’m considering the next book, I start at the end and work backwards. I know what I want to achieve, it’s just how to arrive there.

What’s your story telling technique?
